Now she passes down the Alpha Phi traditions to her own children! Kady writes, “I wanted to share how much my own experience at Alpha Phi has shaped my life. I knew I wanted to be in a sorority when I was really young. My father was a Beta at Hanover College and I grew up hearing Beta songs as lullabies. As I got older, my Dad would tell me stories from life in the fraternity and I was able to see how close he was to his Beta Brothers, even as an adult. I wanted those same experiences and I knew DePauw would offer that. Gamma sisters from as far back as the 70s answered our call. For Debbie Smith ‘79, Gamma exposed her to a community that she didn't necessarily have when she was young. "I am an only child, so living in the Gamma house gave me an opportunity to see what it was like to have lots of sisters.
